About Us

When you serve God, you never know what's around the corner! Elisoit and Kim met while working together in Haiti. He's been in full-time ministry for the past 10 years and she has been in missions for 5 years. We were married July 2007 and have twin boys, Caleb and Joshua, born August 2008. As our family grows, we're excited to see what God has in store for us next!

Summer 2008 Update

“How is it that well-educated, highly functional, morally grounded, hard working people would give up everything that this world has to offer to go to an impoverished country? They would live amongst the poor, sacrifice, suffer and put themselves at risk. They will spend their lives learning another language, culture and geography. They will pay their own way to go. They will pray and believe God for their “daily bread” and trust God for every provision. They will smile when persecuted and endure all kinds of degradations. They will exhaust themselves for people who don’t know why they are there and, for the most part, believe they are fools for what they are doing. Who calls these people and can sustain them? Only God! It is a miracle that such things happen. And how about the provision for such people, their children, housing, transportation, education, projects, programs, churches, Bibles, literature, food and fuel? Who could supply all of these needs? Only God! It’s a miracle that such things happen.”

- Steve Beam, President and Founder of Missionary Ventures, taken from a recent Missionary Ventures Magazine (Spring 2008)

Why do we do what we do, you may ask? Because there is no greater feeling or sense of fulfillment than that of being in the perfect will of God, whether in a remote village of Haiti or in the marketplace in the US. What continues to drive us is the desire to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, particularly in the dark places such as Haiti,. Over the past year we had the privilege to work along Pastor Pierre as we watched God do many great things within this mission in the remote village of Boucan Lamarre. Most recently God made a way for a well to be dug on the mission site through the work of Remember The Poor International! God’s hand is definitely over this mission and we were grateful for the opportunity to have been apart of it.

Even so, as our family grows, so does our vision for ministry as God continues to reveal to us more and more the need to help other pastors and churches throughout Haiti. We passionately seek to help these leaders to grow in their knowledge of Christ, to be encouraged in the vision God has given them, and to be a channel in which God can use to provide resources to these pastors. In doing so, we have prayerfully made the decision to partner with Missionary Ventures to help us facilitate this vision God has heavily laid upon our hearts. Missionary Ventures is an interdenominational Christian organization that connects individuals and churches worldwide with local and indigenous ministries. Based in Orlando, Florida, this organization presently has seven offices worldwide (Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Latin America, New Zealand, South Africa, and the USA) and works through fifty different mission bases worldwide. As Field Coordinators for Missionary Ventures, we will be working along side of Indigenous Pastors and Leaders on the mainland of Haiti to encourage them in the work God has called them to do within their local church as well as help to coordinate and lead short-term mission trips into Haiti offered through Missionary Ventures. We are both very excited about this opportunity and look forward to see how God will use this new partnership with Missionary Ventures to continue to bring about transformation within this poverty stricken country. Family Update - Many changes have occurred within the Joly Family already this year with even more to come as we continue to prepare for the delivery of our twins within the next month. Kim arrived back in the US last month to a whirlwind of various doctor appointments, visiting family, and gathering the necessary supplies needed for the new arrivals coming very soon. We are tremendously grateful that Mom and both babies are healthy and doing well. We realize and acknowledge God’s gracious hand upon our family as we have not had any problems with this pregnancy. Elisoit remains in Haiti as we continue to trust God will make a way for him to come to the states soon. The process is such that we are waiting for the US Immigration Department to process the paperwork we filed on his behalf earlier this year. We hope to hear something within the next 4 to 6 weeks. While in Haiti, he is learning more about computers and practicing his English as he prepares for his first trip to the US.

Prayer Needs - More growth in both family and ministry equates to the need of more growth in our financial support base. Please pray with us as we seek additional churches and individuals to partner with us in the work God has called us to. We also ask that you continue to pray for safe delivery for the twins due mid-September (however, twins usually come early).

We are grateful for your friendship and sincerely thank you for all your prayers and for the various ways you contribute toward this ministry work. If you would like us to come speak at your church or small group, please let us know as we are currently scheduling speaking engagements for later this year and early 2009. We continue to pray blessings for you and your family and hope to see you again soon.

Pressing Onward,

Kim and Elisoit Joly

Jolys' Family Grows

The twins at 6 weeks

The twins at 26 weeks

In case you haven't heard, we're expecting twins in mid-September!! We first learned of this pregnancy in January and found out in February that God has blessed us with two babies! You can imagine how these little people have already changed our lives. Kim returned from Haiti in early July to prepare for their delivery as Elisoit remains in Haiti. We are trusting God to make a way for him to come as we wait through the Visa process. During our last sonogram in mid-July, we learned they are both boys! As the time of their arrival draws closer, we are excited to meet these World Changers that God has entrusted us with very soon!

Welcome to our Blog!

So many exciting things are happening with the Joly Family! We hope this blog will help us to stay connected with our friends and family as we pursue the ministry work God has us to do. Elisoit and I have been living and working in a remote village called Boucan Lamarre on the island of La Gonave in Haiti. As Kim grew up in such a fast-paced, blessed country as the United States, it’s difficult to imagine places like Boucan Lamarre still exist in the world. This is truly one of those places the bible refers to as the “ends of the earth”. We watched as God did many great things in the time we were there and look forward to hearing more exciting news from this mission about all that God is doing there. Unbelievably, there are still people living in La Gonave who have not had the opportunity to hear of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And for those who have, such as the people within Boucan Lamarre, it is vital for the people of Haiti to learn the importance of biblical living. To live beyond the cultural traditions of the Voodoo beliefs they have grown up with and to live a life according to the Gospel. It is these truths that continue to drive us to do what we do.
